Tooth Extraction

The wisdom tooth, also known as the third molar, is the tooth that typically emerges at the back of the mouth and appears between the ages of 17 and 22. Due to their eruption time, these teeth are referred to as wisdom teeth. Although they are present in most individuals, sometimes one or more may be missing.

Since they emerge during the teenage years, they often remain impacted due to lack of space or cause pain and discomfort due to inflammation of the gum tissue surrounding them.

If the wisdom teeth are properly positioned and not causing any harm to the adjacent teeth, extraction is usually not necessary. However, the extraction of these teeth may be considered based on their position in the jaw and whether they are causing damage to neighboring teeth.
